From Royal Flush to High Card
- Royal Flush
The five highest cards, the 10 through theAce, all five of the same suit. A royal flush isactually an ace-high straight flush. Which suit itis doesn't matter in poker. Two people with royal flusheswould tie. - Straight Flush
Any five cards of the same suit in consecutive numerical order.Our example shows a five-high straightflush. Four of a Kind Four of aKind Four cards of the same denomination. Ourexample shows four jacks with a deucekicker. - FullHouse
Any three cards of the same denomination,plus any pair of a different denomination. Ties are broken first by the three ofa kind, then the pair. Our example shows sevensfull of threes. - Flush
Any five non-consecutivecards of the same suit. Our example shows a queen-high diamond flush. - Straight Any five consecutivecards of mixed suits. Ace can be high or low. - TwoPair
Any two cards of the same denomination, plus any other two cardsof the same denomination. If both hands have the samehigh pair, the second pair wins. If both pairs tie, the high card wins. Ourexample shows two pair, eights andfives. - Pair
Any two cards of the same denomination. Ourexample displays a pair of nines. In a tie, thehigh card wins. High Card HighCard If no other hand is achieved, the highest card heldwins. In our example, the king of hearts is thehigh card. - HighCard
If no other hand is achieved, the highestcard held wins. In our example, the king of heartsis the high card.
